I have been dying to blog about this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our own Jacob Willis got married last month in Fresno. Eder and I had the distinct pleasure and honor of being the ones to shoot with them on their incredibly awesome wedding day. From top to bottom, start to finish, every detail was beautiful and fitted their personalities and styles perfectly. Since they are photographers, I knew I had to deliver the goods. We brought some lights for extra radicalness too…I do have to admit that their ceremony was the most emotional one I’ve ever shot. I will blame it on the music but, I almost lost it in the middle of the ceremony several times. The home where they had their reception was incredible and a really fun environment. The day after the wedding, we took a drive to Yosemite for a day-after session with them and BLEW.IT.UP! Love you guys!

My First 2010 wedding…What a way to kick off the year!!! Jessica and Matt hail from Georgia and although they live in San Diego now, most of their guests didn’t have to travel very far.
As it was my first time in Athens, there was a lot to see and learn about the town and the area. My first impressions are that it is a young college town that thrives on its young students energy. It was great – cheap delicious food, tons of fun and $1 PBR’s on tap!
The weekend started with a brunch for the ladies and a really cool rehearsal dinner – on the wedding day, the groomsmen started it off right with a little paintball in the morning and as the rain started to come down, the preparations began. The ceremony was on the UGA campus which was a great backdrop for the day. The ladies got ready at a historic house right near the Chapel and all of the great details including the bouquets, black dresses and antique furniture looked great in the soft rainy day light.
After a very personal and touching ceremony, we headed through the 40 degree weather (including rain) to some really fun spots on the way to the Georgian – another classic building where the reception took place. The dinner and dancing was a ton of fun for the guests and the evening finished with Jessica and Matt dashing through a tunnel of umbrellas to their limo – Their honeymoon in Bora Bora and Tahiti greeted them with slightly better weather conditions…

What an amazing wedding! Katie and Tyler live in San Diego, but decided they wanted to have their wedding in the mountains around Lake Arrowhead. For those of you not in Southern California, Lake Arrowhead is a few hours north of here, just outside of San Bernardino. You don’t really realize it as you’re driving up, but before you know it, you’re nestled up at 6,000ft with tall pine trees and a crystal clear blue lake. In our opinion, nothing beats destination wedding photography.
This wedding is also a testament to how amazing it can be to have a lot of time with the couple. Katie and Tyler elected to see each other before the wedding in order to have more time for pictures. We spent almost two hours photographing them all over the grounds of the Lake Arrowhead Resort. It was a gorgeous, warm day, and they are such a fun couple. Their families were also a blast – its rare that everyone laughs at ALL my jokes

Being that their wedding was held in the midst of vineyards and a beautiful garden, they kept nature as a theme and named each table after a plant.

It didn’t stop there, they hung each placecard in a tree with a packet of seeds from each respective plant.

All the placecards were handstamped giving them an artistic look and a feeling of care.

And they didn’t forget about the photographers!

This detail comes from a wedding the Bronson shot in Lake Tahoe last summer…what a gorgeous spot for a wedding. The bride Heather ventured out from the norm and decided not to do the traditional bridesmaid thing.

She did have three of her friends with her helping her get ready, taking pictures with her, and helping her carrying her train as she headed to the ceremony but as you can see they all picked their own dresses…

…and I am sure these are dresses they will actually wear again.

Okay, so Thanksgiving was a couple weeks ago but every time I look at this wedding and think of Heather and Ryan, I am thankful – thankful to be a wedding photographer in the greatest country in the world, a country that is home to the great wedding spot that Heather and Ryan chose at beautiful Lake Tahoe.
Our friend Jeff Youngren joined me for the adventure and we had a blast. We spent the day before the wedding hanging out with Heather and Ryan’s families who I have to say were incredibly warm and welcoming. We also had a chance to go out on the lake by Waverunner which is one of the coolest things I’ve done.
Heather got ready at the house her parents rented and it lent itself to some really great photo ops as you can see! The wedding day was a blast and I don’t think the conditions could have been more perfect. The ceremony was right near the water (sand harbor) http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifand the reception was just steps away at a great log cabiny type feeling place on a huge deck that also had a great view of the lake.
Since we were running a little behind on our way to the airport, Jeff and I became the proud recipients of an award from the Nevada highway patrol – I found out that speeding tickets there are a lot more reasonable than those in good old California – another reason to love destination weddings.
