When I first saw Becca the morning of their wedding, I would have never guessed she was super sick. Her eyes were still full of energy and excitement and she was as fresh as..well, something really really fresh. The only clue was the constant intake of Emergen-C that her bridesmaids kept supplying.
Becca and Matt are from Minnesota and convinced a lot of Minnesotans to join them here in San Diego for the weekend – I must admit I haven’t heard that many people with that particular accent all gathered in one place before
Due to their super sweet personalities and easy-goingness, I had a great time shooting with Becca and Matt and we made sure to take advantage of all the classic Balboa Park architecture so that their friends from out of town would be jealous when they saw their pictures. jk. But we did have a great time!
The ceremony was held behind the Prado and the reception was in the Loggia room. Bob of Artistic Productions was on hand to provide his ever-so-stellar DJ skills – some great toasts, dinner and dancing ensued…another great day at “the park”.

With everything made bite sized by Jennie Parker of Parker Pastry there were a dozen different choices from brownies to cheesecake to chocolate covered strawberries….and the topper Golden Spoon frozen yogurt, YUM!

It was a sugar wonderland.

And what did they feed each other without cake?

Golden Spoon of course!

Christina and Ross – such a cute couple! We had such a good time at their engagement session – here’s the post I did with pictures from that session back in May. They had a Father’s Day wedding, and it turned out to be such a beautiful day! Both Christina and Ross have such a relaxing and pleasant demeanor that its so easy to be around them and photograph them.
When couple’s have their ceremony earlier in the day (in this case 11am), I love to go out after the reception for pictures. In this case, their reception ended at 4pm, so headed out to the Lighthouse for some pictures. While it was still bright out, the wedding pictures look fantastic!

We always love working at Humphreys Half Moon Inn and Suites for wedding photography – Darla and Co. does such a wonderful job coordinating everything together. Leslie and Jorge’s wedding was no exception either! A San Diego wedding on a Friday can really be a treat, too.
These two are extremely cute together – I really noticed this throughout the day. They have the ability to almost instantaneously snap out of all the stress and craziness a wedding can bring and quickly go to focusing on each other. And – their friends really know how to party! The dance floor was absolutely packed the whole night!

I first met Doug while working at Jamba Juice. Doug started there about three days before me, so he always ranked higher than me on the seniority charts . . . Despite all that, we had a great time working there together and kept up with each other.
And then there’s Bronson. Bronson and Doug ended up being in the same fraternity at PLNU together. So it really was too funny how all three of us became friends through separate walks of life, in a way.
Frances is the perfect compliment to Doug – hanging out with the two of them just leaves you laughing for several hours. Although I didn’t end up shooting their wedding photography, Bronson and Jacob shot some amazing stuff. Frances and Doug wanted to go out AFTER the wedding – which you can see yielded some pretty cool shots. I’m really proud of how well we shoot when its dark out – I love the unique lighting you can get. The El Cortez is such a classy venue and a wonderful place for photography as well.

I knew this wedding would be fun after their engagement session earlier this year. Karey and Paul are always laughing, always joking (well, Paul is), always having fun. Their wedding was no different, and I couldn’t help but thoroughly enjoy myself.
The highlight of the night was catching the fireworks in their photographs. This was a big deal to them, and we had to sprint down five flights of stairs (literally) to get the shot. Merrylin of Artistic Productions kept the party going until late like she always does. Karey and Paul just put in their album order and I can’t wait to see the design
Its weddings like these where you are very thankful that you are blessed to be a wedding photographer!

Just got back from WPPI – awesome times! I will do a post here soon, but I wanted to throw a few pictures up from a past wedding.

Nothing is better as a wedding photographer than getting invited to a wedding. One of my best friends growing up through high school and college, Allison looked stunning on her day. She asked me to join her for hair, makeup, and prep with my camera, and then enjoy the rest of the day without my camera! Her husband Danny is a really awesome guy who I’ve played football with many years ago.
For those of you out there who just want to invite me to your wedding as a guest, I will now gladly accept

Jessie and Gerard!! Remember their super unique engagement session, with us running to catch trolley’s and such? We were trying to come up with an image they could use at their wedding with the “Change in Address” cards. These two were off to Kansas City right after their honeymoon for Gerard to start seminary.
This rainbow epitomizes the wedding day – absolutely breathtaking. The ceremony and reception were both at NTC Promenade. I just loved the bright, bold colors and classic feel this wedding had.
